Post: Expect Things to Not Always Go as Expected
Author: Brandy Webb
Now, I did not hear a voice proclaim those words. What I mean is there are times where I want to turn right but something will occur at the time to force me to go left. It is these situations that, later on, I see that the change of route was God “telling” me to go in a different direction. I call them God’s curves.
Now, looking backward, I see it’s God’s hand moving. Yet, during the change of direction, there is a struggle, because it is hard for me to let go and let Him do the driving in my life. Sometimes when we take the wheel and want to go one way, He will throw a surprise curve in our path to make us go the way He wants us to go. During the struggle over who is going to drive, life seems overwhelming. This is when we really need to sit back and let go of trying to control everything, and to remember to “trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not depend on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
